With tonight’s hematoma inducing win over KJ Noons, Jorge Masvidal has scrapped his way to the top of the Strikeforce lightweight rankings and it looks like he is the next opponent for Gilbert Melendez. The match lived up to the hype with crisp boxing from Masvidal stunning and confusing KJ early. Gamebred then timed some impeccable flying knees on a level changing KJ, opening up a huge gash that looked like an Octopus mouth. Very gory.
After a fight that almost gets finished in the first round, the bout goes through two more high paced rounds of Masvidal laying on a barrage of strikes to the dome of KJ all the way to a decision that is capped with a friggin gigantic growth popping out of the side of KJ’s forehead.
