- Jon Jones responded to Dominick Reyes’ claim that he won during their title fight
- “Bones” believes “The Devastator” worked hard for their fight but ended up failing
Jon Jones blasted Dominick Reyes for claiming that he beat “Bones” during their title fight.
Jon didn’t let Dominick slide
In a series of posts on X, “Bones” clapped back at Reyes and gave his former rival a refresher of what really went down between them during their light heavyweight title fight at UFC 247.
According to Jones, “The Devastator,” like everybody else, had the chance to prove that he was the better fighter. However, Reyes failed to do so and that’s a fact.
“What a claim to fame, almost beat John Jones. Got full of myself and literally couldn’t win another fight,” Jones wrote.

“Dominic, when you look back at our fight, I don’t want you to ever question me or those judges. Look at your own heart, your own endurance, you didn’t do enough. The sooner you accept that, the better athlete you’ll become,” he wrote in a follow up post.

“At the end of the day, Dominic trained for years to defeat me. He mentioned that I was always his target from day one. He had the chance. The fight ended with that man trying to survive,” Jones concluded.

Jon has moved on
Jones’ title fight win over Reyes may not be the best of his career but he still got the job done and defended his belt after five rounds. Though it wasn’t clear why Reyes decided to take a shot at “Bones” more than four years since they faced each other inside the Octagon, Jones has clearly moved on from it.
In fact, Jones has now been busy and focused on fully recovering to defend his heavyweight title. On the other hand, Reyes is still competing in the light heavyweight division and is coming off a first-round knockout win over Dustin Jacoby.
