- Israel Adesanya slammed fans taking sneak photos of him and trying to engage him in lengthy conversations when he’s in public gyms
- Izzy’s team wants to face Dricus du Plessis next
Reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has grown tired of fans interrupting him while he’s in the middle of his workout whenever he visits public gyms. In a social media post, “The Last Stylebender” addressed the issue in the hope that people will understand.
Don’t be a Creep
According to Adesanya, only a “creep” would take sneak photos of him while working out and it’s disrespectful. Also, Izzy pointed out that a quick greet is fine but engaging him in a lengthy conversation while resting is not.
“People, stop taking sneak photos of me in the gym. Imagine if I started to doing it, taking sneak photos of people, I’ll be a creep. So when you start to take sneak photos…at the gym, you’re a f***ing creep too. Whether you are a man, woman, or child. I don’t give a f**k, you’re a f***ing creep,” Adesanya explained.
“Quick [nod], fist bump, quick smile, quick hello [would be fine already],” he added. “Don’t hold me hostage with your conversation. He’s got a timer on his phone where I’m supposed to rest. And when you hold me hostage, I’m not resting. So, don’t do that…. To the ladies I scolded, I went up to them and said, ‘Look, how would you feel if I would be secretly filming you in the gym?’ And immediately, it was just like [snaps]. And they apologized. So, shoutout to them, for taking that in good faith.”
Once in a while I’m in public gyms, because I have to get my power back from the people. Set boundaries, kill social anxiety while tryna work out, I empathize with hot chicks at the gym, iykyk. Shoutout the real ones who just smile and wave, appreciate yous.#Mentoo 😚 pic.twitter.com/MDI8WMinqj

Waiting for his next Foe
As it stands, Adesanya is waiting for the winner of UFC 290 headliner Robert Whittaker vs. Dricus du Plessis. The match is a title eliminator and the winner gets to face Izzy next. If given a chance to pick, Adesanya’s coach Eugene Bareman prefers to take on Du Plessis as he believes Whittaker has done nothing significant after Izzy beat him in their rematch last year.
