- Impa Kasanganay talked about his desire to fight Francis Ngannou
- “The Predator” is making his PFL debut and is also being linked to a rematch with Tyson Fury
Impa Kasanganay has no plans of slowing down now that he has become a champion. In fact, “Tshilobo” is already calling for a super fight with incoming PFL debutant and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
Impa wants to take Francis’ territory
After capturing the PFL light heavyweight title with a dominant win over Josh Silveira, Kasanganay set his sights on Ngannou. Speaking on Anik & Florian podcast, “Tshilobo” reiterated that he is serious about facing “The Predator,” especially now that he has become a champion.
“I mean it… I respect the greats and he’s one of the greatest… the best of the best fight each other. Once you become a world champion, you solidify yourself as one of the best… Like he said, I’m not calling out people within my land. Like, you wanna be the king in your land, you gotta take over the land. And that’s how I look at it. Francis Ngannou is one of the kings on this territory, I want that part of the land,” Kasanganay explained.
Ngannou vs. Kasanganay might not happen soon
While a showdown between Kasanganay and Ngannou is not impossible now that both of them are under the PFL, it might happen soon due to the pile of fights awaiting “The Predator.”
PFL boss Donn Davis already confirmed that Ngannou will finally make his MMA debut in the promotion and it is even likely to be against former heavyweight world boxing champion Deontay Wilder, who has been expressing interest to switch to MMA. Apart from that, a talked-about rematch with Tyson Fury in boxing is also apparently gaining traction.
With that in mind, it is becoming more and more apparent that MMA fans are looking at an exciting 2024 at PFL.
