You should all be disappointed if the next edition of Mortal Kombat doesn’t have a cheat code that harnesses the power of a Mike Russow’s last-second, hail mary punch at UFC 114. It was the first conscious scrambler Todd Duffee felt in his career, which subsequently earned him a ticket out of the UFC heavyweight division. The greatest accomplishment that I’ve ever witnessed was a pizza delivery guy defeating Mortal Kombat 2 without losing a single round with only one quarter. The moon landing was cool, but I didn’t see it live. That Friday night, inside the 7-11 corner store off of Beltline and Garland road in the DFW area, I was in the presence of awesomeness — and it was awesome.
