Former UFC fighter Icho Larenas has been charged with murder.
According to reports, Larenas and his wife Gladys Rosana Lopez called 911 regarding a home invasion in their residence in Laval, Quebec.
At the time, they had relocated to a family member’s home after they were robbed.
When police entered the scene, they found a dead 17-year-old who was “unrecognizable” after he was believed to be stabbed and beaten to death.
Local Laval police then turned the case over to the provincial police of Quebec, citing that the homicide was tied to organized crime.
Larenas and Lopez were later denied release from custody at a Wednesday court appearance with the former being charged with second-degree murder. Lopez, meanwhile, was charged with being an accomplice after the fact.
More details regarding the case should come soon.
