- Henry Cejudo blasted Mike Bell for his questionable 10-8 scoring on Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko II
- “Triple C” thinks “Bullet” should’ve won the fight if it wasn’t for Bell
Henry Cejudo has become one of the latest UFC stars who have shared their thoughts on the 10-8 scorecard that saw Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko rematch ending in a split draw. For “Triple C,” Judge Mike Bell should be accountable for what he has done and retire.
Mike Bell knows nothing about his job
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Cejudo did not mince his words as he slammed Bell for doing such a terrible job in giving the fifth round of the bout a 10-8 in favor of Grasso. The former UFC champ-champ acknowledged that in that specific round, Grasso won but there was no way that it should be a 10-8.
Cejudo is now questioning Bell’s integrity and wants the controversial judge to just quit his job.
“The biggest question that I have out of this whole thing as I’m thinking is what’s going on with this 10-8 round in the fifth for Alexa Grosso. I mean it is Mexican Independence Day and this is one thing that Valentina did bring up to mine is the judge… they tend to lean more towards the favorite athlete when it comes to a special holiday like September 15, 16,” Cejudo began.
“They fought their butt off but does Valentina, did she deserve a 10-8 round? “Does Alexa Grasso deserve to have a 10-8 round like it? To me, it really doesn’t make any sense and I think we need to start holding people accountable. I go back to my fight with Aljamain Sterling, that fifth round like even he said Henry won but somehow Derek Cleary, the guy, the two split decision losses that I do have against Benavidez and Aljamain Sterling, I ended up losing because of this one man. Now, Mike Bell… Like I don’t know if these judges want their name on social media so that so they’re gonna decide to do certain things but where is the accountability?” he pointed out.
“Did Alexa win the fifth round? 100 percent. Was it a 10-8 round? Absolutely not. Mike Bell, you absolutely make me sick. You absolutely make me sick. You should retire from judging, because you don’t know absolutely anything. You’re ruining people’s careers, you’re ruining their purse for that matter because of your damn ego and because you want to give somebody a 10-8 round that’s absolutely ridiculous. You need to be prosecuted for this because that is absolutely not cool,” he concluded.
Henry gave it to Valentina
In the end, Cejudo concluded that Shevchenko should’ve won the fight.
“I have Alexa winning round two and five, and that’s it. And for what Valentina was able to do and the way she was kind of able to pap up her face, watching the fight as a whole, Valentina was the victor and it’s not Alexa Grasso’s fault, it’s not these people’s fault, you know whose fault it is? Is that one crumm, slimy, looking judge who decided to give somebody a 10-8 round which is completely unfair,” Cejudo explained.
Contrary to what Cejudo thought, Grasso was certain she won the fight. A rematch is unlikely to be worked on at this point and there could be a possibility that the result of the fight will be overturned now that NSAC is reportedly taking actions to address the issue about 10-8 scoring in fights.
