Henry Cejudo continues to clamor for that elusive big-money fight and he’s taking aim at Conor McGregor.
When Cejudo retired back in 2020, he made it clear that a certain number can convince him to return. Of course, “Triple C” was referring to the dollar signs. Cejudo hasn’t fought in about two years but that hasn’t stopped him from talking trash.
Henry Cejudo Wants Conor McGregor Showdown
During an episode of the Triple C & Schmo show, Henry Cejudo laid out the challenge to Conor McGregor.
“I’d like to see him dance with me, quite honestly. He went from ‘145 to ‘170. Why don’t you give me that same opportunity? I can go from ‘135 from ‘125 all the way to ‘155, no problem. So, that’s who I would like to see next. I want that fight. I talk a lot of stuff, we smack talk a lot of stuff to each other, it gets personal between us. Give me the opportunity, give me the shot.”
Cejudo went on to admit that Conor is his golden ticket to the massive fight he’s craved.
“Enough of this Twitter crap, enough of this cute Twitter stuff. Okay, yeah you are red panty night and for that reason I do wanna fight you. But think about it too, Conor McTapper, you got two belts, I have two belts. I have an Olympic gold medal and you don’t have anything.”
McGregor has been recovering from a broken tibia and fibula he suffered in his trilogy bout against Dustin Poirier back in July 2021. The “Notorious” one underwent successful surgery and some believe he may be back in the summer. Of course, with an injury of this magnitude, that timetable isn’t set in stone.
