Gegard Mousasi finally talks about where the heck he’s been for the past year

In the marathon of obtaining really clever nicknames in MMA, Gegard Mousasi is a promising runner-up. Actually, that’s being overly nice. Dreamcatcher is not only the name of an Indian divinatory device that ‘catches dreams’ when you sleep, but it’s also the title of a really horrible alien film that stars Morgan Freeman pulling off his best Santa Claus impression. Morgan Freeman’s facial hair in that movie serves as a reminder that eyebrows are individual mustaches for the eyes.

Let’s change Mousasi’s nickname from ‘Dreamcatcher’ to ‘Paper Fortune Teller.’ You guys know what I’m talking about, those little fortune origami squares you used to make in elementary school to accurately predict your life. Good luck trying to make one of those things now, the knowledge you obtained when you were a kid has been permanently lost in your brain. Ah, elementary school — the days in which a person’s worth in society was equivalent to their pencil break ability.

HYEFighters.com caught up with Gegard Mousasi in Los Angeles to see what the former Strikeforce and DREAM light heavyweight champion has been up to since his bout with OSP back in 2011. Two Armenian stories in one day, it’s a sign of something that I’m not sophisticated enough to understand.
