The lightweight division is full of potential stars, not to mention its former champion Conor Mcgregor is the biggest draw in UFC history. Any top-ranked lightweight contender could face Irishman, and the ratings would be great. With the emergence of fighters such as Kevin Lee and Justin Gaethje, the division has added more flare, youth, and excitement. Divison’s current champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is out until fall, with Mcgregor facing legal troubles and not to forget Tony Ferguson who is nursing his injured knee, targeting a November return. Until then Barboza vs. Gaethje fight would definitely electrify MMA fans.
