Edmond Tarverdyan is still Ronda’s coach heading into the Holly Holm rematch

Against the wishes of just about everyone that holds love in their heart for Ronda Rousey, Edmond Tarverdyan is still going to be coaching Ronda Rousey. She makes this decision after she revealed to ESPN that “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”

It’s easy to say Holly Holm will destroy Ronda once again, but that might not be the case. Of course, if this rematch happens at UFC 200 (it probably won’t), then that very likely could happen. Especially if Edmond is guiding her fighting once again. Rousey explained to ESPN in her usual Rousey manner:

“Of course I’m staying [with coach Tarverdyan].

“I need to come back. I need to beat this chick. Who knows if I’m going to pop my teeth out or break my jaw or rip my lip open. I have to fucking do it.”

Tarverdyan has shown with his revolving door of losing fighters that he shouldn’t be in someone’s corner, let alone the greatest female fighter ever, which Ronda still is. Ronda needs to focus on making herself better, and changing things up if she’s going to get past Holly Holm again.

Time will tell if Ronda has the Anderson Silva mentality heading into fight #2, and she should – she’s great. But assuming she wins in 10 seconds isn’t likely. But then again, anything can happen. And has – over and over again.
