Demetrious Johnson Responds To The Talks Of Dillashaw Vs. Cejudo Superfight

Demetrious Jonhson On TJ Dillashaw vs. Henry Cejudo Superfight: ‘Let Them Do It’

The cross-division super fights in UFC are becoming a fad, and latest is the talks between current bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw who’s coming off a first-round knockout win over formal rival Cody Garbrandt at UFC 227 and then Henry Cejuo who made history in the same card after dethroning the long and distinguished run of Demetrious Johnson via split decision.

After their respective wins, both traded shots on social media that speculate that their super fight is imminent. Even UFC president Dana White is hopeful on this showdown, but nothing is official yet unless we hear a word from a promotion.

Despite being the most dominant champion in UFC Demetrious Johnson never arose as a megastar or sell the PPV’s. Aside from that, ‘Mighty Mouse’ has a record of UFC 11 title defenses. Many started criticising that Johnson deserves a rematch with an impressive record and who also holds a knockout victory over Cejudo when they clashed for the first time back in 2016.

Recently speaking on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show, Johnson being asked about the Dillashaw vs. Cejudo super fight, he seems ok with the current situation and even endorses their showdown. ‘Mighty Mouse’ says he’ll perform well with whoever he fights next.

“I think it’s good for them,” Johnson said (via Sherdog.com). “If that’s what they want to do, let them do it, you know? I think I read somewhere TJ said when he was weight-cutting he hit 133, so if he wants to do it, have him do it. I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with it at all. Let them do what they wanna do, dawg. That’s them.”

“I’m not worried about because I know I’m gonna be successful wherever I’m at,” he continued. “Whether it’s me not getting a fair shake…at the end of the day, that’s something my management is gonna have to deal with because I don’t talk to the UFC brass because I can’t hold back my emotions, and I keep it real.”

That surely clears the air of Johnson rematch. So who do you think Demetrious Johnson should fight next upon his return?
