UFC president Dana White won’t put his friendship with Mike Tyson in jeopardy over a deal with Hulu.
Dana White Squashes Hulu Deal For Mike Tyson
The UFC president was recently interviewed after an episode of Dana White’s Contender Series this week.
During the interview, White was asked about a situation involving him, Hulu, and his longtime friend and boxing heavyweight legend Mike Tyson.
White revealed that he had a deal in place with Hulu for the UFC to promote a biography on Tyson that’s set to drop soon. However, White caught wind that Tyson had a problem with the biography.
When White called Tyson to get his side of the story, Tyson explained that Hulu is “f*cking him” on the deal. That was all White had to hear, as he immediately squashed the agreement with Hulu.
“We did a deal – or were about to do a deal, were on the verge of a deal to promote this Mike Tyson unauthorized biography or whatever it is.
“And Craig, my head of production, came to me and said ‘Hey, I’m hearing that Tyson isn’t happy about this thing.’
“So I call Mike and I said, ‘We’re in a deal with these guys, we have a verbal to do this deal with them.’ And he said ‘Dana, they’re f*cking me and -‘ That’s all I had to hear. I said ‘I’m out then.’
“Then I won’t – I’ll squash this deal. So I killed the deal and I told them that it was over and that I killed it and we won’t be promoting that show for Hulu. And then he did what he did.”
White is anything if not a loyal friend. He’s stood by the likes of Tyson and former United States President Donald Trump despite controversies surrounding both men.
The UFC boss has proven he certainly doesn’t care about the opinions of the media or the public when it comes to himself and his friends.
