Dana White: I Tried To Get Woodley To Fight, But He Came With A Doctor’s Note

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley remains unsure about his return after having shoulder surgery last year. So in the midst of that, UFC slated Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington for the UFC interim welterweight title at UFC 224.

Woodley has been out of action since scoring a unanimous decision win over Demian Maia at the UFC 214 pay-per-view (PPV) event last July.

This news baffled Tyron Woodley.

As per UFC president Dana White, he is trying to get him to fight so many time, but he ends up bringing doctor’s note that he cant fight until August:

“Tyron Woodley, we were trying to get him to fight,” White told UFC Tonight. “He came back with a doctor’s note that says he is injured and cannot fight until August.”

Dana White and Woodley have had past dispute, where Woodley said about being offered a money-fight opportunity against Nate Diaz, but white totally shut of this rumor.

Welterweight contenders Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington, who have individually traded barbs with Tyron Woodley over the past few months. Dos Anjos who has been angling a title fight with champion called Woodley desperate for entertaining a fight with Nate Diaz.

Two top welterweight contenders, Stephen Thompson and Darren Till also slated in the main event of UFC Liverpool; where Woodley pick a former title challenger Thompson to win this contest.
