Cub Swanson doesn’t think fighting Jose Aldo again will be a fair fight…for Jose Aldo

I’d like to put a message out to a girl named Helen who fought me back in high school on a rainy Friday night in a movie theater parking lot: ‘if we ever have the chance to fight again, trust me this time it won’t be a fair fight for you, Helen.’ My parking lot street MMA fight with Helen wasn’t a fair fight for me-but I still managed to bum rush takedown and then ground and pound her 200 plus pound body. Unfortunately for me, my friends hastily thought to jump in and break up the fight. When they did-they didn’t think to block me from an accidental upkick to the face from one of Helen’s hysterically flailing limbs, so I ended up with a bloody nose. It was just a lucky aimless kick for Helen whatever-her-last- name-is that day. Next time, Helen won’t be so lucky. I’ve been dilligently traneing my UFC.

This must be how Cub Swanson feels about the flying knee that Jose Aldo landed on his face back in the glory days of WEC. That flying knee managed to knock Swanson out a mere 8 seconds into the fight and place a wound on his forehead so nasty it was worthy of the ‘number 10 spot’ on our list of Top ten cuts that look like a womb giving birth. After earning two consecutive knockout of the night bonuses against Ross Pearson and Charles Oliveira and winning five of his seven fights since being brutally KO’d by Jose Aldo, Swanson sounds like he thinks that Aldo knee was just a lucky knee and a second fight between the two won’t go the same way at all. Here’s what he told Sherdog radio this week about a rematch with Aldo:

“I know that I could win that fight 10 out of 10 times if we did it again. It’s not even an issue to me anymore. I’d actually like my brother — would love for my brother — to fight him, who’s an up-and-comer, which I feel is more of a fair fight. I don’t really feel like [himself vs. Aldo] would be a fair fight at all”

Wow, so not only is Swanson saying he can beat Aldo-but he’s also saying his up and coming fighter brother (Steve Swanson) can take the reigning champion Jose Aldo in a fight. Sounds like Swanson is issuing some fighting words towards Aldo in hopes of talking himself into a title shot against the champ and his impregnating knees.
