Conor McGregor Shares Cryptic Image of Himself on Social Media Amid UFC 303 Cancelation Rumors

McGregor shared a picture of himself at what appears to be a doctor's office with no additional context behind the photo.

As his UFC 303 main event hangs in the balance, all Conor McGregor can do is sit back and smile.

After announcing that a press event in Dublin was canceled hours before its start time due to a “series of obstacles outside of our control,” fans were immediately left wondering if McGregor’s quote-unquote “greatest comeback in combat sports history” would still go down on June 29 as advertised.

MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani attempted to quell some of the concerns, claiming there is “great positivity” in regards to the fight happening as scheduled. However, recent reports of the promotion putting out “feelers” to other fighters interested in taking the spot have failed to ease the minds of pundits.

Not to mention Michael Chandler’s announcement that he had bailed on his fight camp in Florida to return home to Tennessee.

McGregor, who has yet to comment on the ongoing drama, shared an image of himself on Instagram while laying on what appears to be a doctor’s table or perhaps at a physical therapist. Unfortunately, there’s no caption to explain what is happening. Just the Irishman laying back with a sh*t-eating grin and a flexed-arm emoji.

Considering tickets for UFC 303 started at a whopping $1,500 and went all the way up to an insane $14,500, Dana White and Co. may want to address the situation before long, otherwise, they’re going to have a lot of pissed-off fans coming for a refund.

Conor McGregor Has Never Pulled Out of a Fight

While Conor McGregor’s appearances inside the Octagon have been few and far between over the last several years, one thing fans tend to forget is that ‘Mystic Mac’ has never once backed out of a scheduled scrap. That certainly bodes well for the International Fight Week headliner, but it’s also McGregor’s first time attempting to fight after suffering a horrific leg break in his last outing.

Historically, fighters who come back from that kind of injury, i.e. Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman, are never quite the same.

But as they say in MMA, anything is possible. Will McGregor vs. Chandler happen, or is the UFC currently scrambling for another big-money fight to throw in its place? Only time will tell.
