Conor McGregor says he tore 80% of his ACL before UFC 189, we say prove it

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story, especially if that story is going to make you even more cash, which is what Conor McGregor holds most dear. Speaking at a fan Q&A before the worst UFC event in history, Conor McGregor said:

“Fourteen weeks before the fight I tore 80 percent of my ACL.I could barely walk, I could barely kick.”

“I had a lot of experience coming back from that injury. I was aware of my body, I was aware of my balance. I had a good team around me. I trusted everyone that was there. That’s how I perform. So, once again, I had a lot of adversity to overcome,” McGregor continued. “But honestly, I went into that fight and I beat Chad on one leg. After going through that adversity I feel like I have gained three new legs.”

Unlike Jose Aldo, who underwent scrutiny for his broken rib, and eventually showed X-rays of his deformed bone that was shattered in his chest, these are just words with nothing backing them up. Of course Conor can claim all he wants now, because in retrospect it makes him look like a hero battling adversity, but now we just want Conor to not be a hypocrite and prove it.

Reveal the doctor, the MRI, the medical paperwork. Prove it, Conor. It’s not that we don’t believe you, we just think this is the right thing to do.
