The Former Interim UFC Welterweight Champ Colby Covington Claims Robbie Lawler And Tyron Woodley Meet For “Senior Citizen Championship” At UFC On ESPN 3

The former 170-pound interim belt owner thinks he is the future of the Welterweight division. So, according to Colby Covington, the former Welterweight titleholders Robbie Lawler and Tyron Woodley will fight for the “senior citizen championship” in the main event of UFC on ESPN 3, which is set to go down on June 29, 2019, in Minneapolis. “We got Woodley and Lawler fighting for the senior citizen championship,” Covington told Ariel Helwani. “Those guys should be retired by now, they’re embarrassing. We got Ben Askren, he’s already gonna go get embarrassed in front of the whole world when he goes against [Jordan] Burroughs at Beat The Streets.”

If we inspect the top 10 UFC Welterweight Octagon warriors, the only young name on the list is Darren Till, with 26 years of age. Tyron Woodley and Robbie Lawler are the oldest–37. Jorge Masvidal and Ben Askren are 34. On the other hand, Colby Covington is “only” 31 years old.

“We got my good buddy Jorge [Masvidal] climbing his way up, which we’ve had countless sparring sessions and training accounts together,” Covington continued. “Then we got me and Marty Fake Snoozeman at the top of the mountain right now ready to settle it. It’s an interesting time in the welterweight division. Didn’t I say I was gonna make the welterweight division great again? And that’s exactly what I did.”

Strange, Colby Covington forgot to mention 36-year-old “Wonderboy”.

Dana White said Covington vs Usman would happen next. So “Chaos” should get the chance to prove his statements in the cage. Kamaru Usman and Ali Abdelaziz already attacked Colby Covington at Palms Casino, so we can only hope there won’t be new incidents in the meantime!
