Chinzo Machida makes his return to MMA this weekend, so let's watch one of his fights...

Some of you never heard of the older Machida, Chinzo — a first name infinitely cooler than yours.

Like his brother, Chinzo Machida decided to never drop out of the karate class his father enrolled him in early in life, and in turn he’s used it to grab a blackbelt in Shotokan Karate. For those that played Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Shotokan Karate is the same fighting style you could choose for Sub-Zero. By default, that can only mean Chinzo Machida can shoot ice bolts from his hands if he spins around in a quarter-circle.

This weekend at Resurrection Fighting Alliance, Chinzo Machida will make his return to MMA after nearly a three-year layoff (four years before that) and take on 2-0 James Barber on the undercard of the show. Some may think a Machida taking on a guy that has only two professional fights in his MMA career is somewhat unfair, but in reality Barber has a better record than Chinzo. In fact out of Chinzo’s three-fight career, he’s only won one of those bouts. Yeah I know, we’re just as perplexed as you are at that statistic.

While he hasn’t enjoying the same success as his brother, he did have an absolutely amazing performance, reminiscent of his brother Lyoto. Therefore, in preparation of his upcoming RFA 8 fight which will air live on AXS TV, check out Chinzo’s only win in professional MMA.
