Michael Chandler has been enjoying the beef between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis.
At UFC 290, du Plessis punched his ticket to a UFC Middleweight Championship bout. He stopped Robert Whittaker in the second round via TKO. After the fight, Adesanya and du Plessis got into a heated staredown inside the Octagon.

Israel Adesanya-Dricus du Plessis Beef
Chandler uploaded a fresh video on his YouTube channel and commented on the bad blood between Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis.
“Dricus is from South Africa, I’m not gonna get into the whole thing, obviously but he is from Africa, Adesanya is from Nigeria,” Chandler said. “There was some words being spoken about who’s African, who’s not African, who’s this, who’s that, and since those words were said by du Plessis, Izzy has had a target fixed firmly on Dricus’ forehead. It has been interesting and fun to watch.”
Chandler was in attendance for UFC 290 and he was sitting close by Adesanya in the crowd. The former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion recalled Adesanya’s immediate reaction to du Plessis’ win over Whittaker.
“I have some inside information because I was right there with him and I watched it happen in real time,” Chandler said. “I think videos have been posted of it, I think I saw something on Instagram, but I watched it. Dricus gets off of Robert Whittaker’s body after he TKOs him and he’s running around. Within seconds of that happening, Izzy starts going nuts and saying, ‘I manifested this.'”
It wasn’t all bad blood for Adesanya at UFC 290. He got a chance to catch up with his former rival Kelvin Gastelum. The two shared a heartwarming moment in the crowd, showing mutual respect.
As far as the du Plessis fight is concerned, Adesanya’s team isn’t lacking confidence. Dan Hooker, Adesanya’s teammate at City Kickboxing, said that his training partner has already visualized victory over du Plessis.
