Brian Ortega KO Frankie Edgar In First Round

Frankie Edgar and Brian Ortega squared off for the UFC’s featherweight bout in the co-main event of tonight’s UFC 222 pay-per-view card in Las Vegas.

Brian Ortega who shocked MMA world, becoming the first fighter ever to defeated Edgar with a cold, calm and calculated counter-punching attack for which Frankie Edgar had no answer.

Brian Ortega won all five of his fights in the UFC, three of those by submission and his chokes are among the most high-level in any weight class.

Edgar, 36, was the UFC lightweight champion for nearly two years and has come up short in two featherweight title fights. He’s had two amazing trilogies against B.J. Penn and Gray Maynard. He had wins in seven of his last eight fights.

Edgar (22-6-1) had a two-fight win streak snapped.

After many attempts on each other, Edgar was rocked by an Ortega’s elbow, and the dangerous submission specialist turned into a knockout threat, then he knocked out “The Answer” with an uppercut. Holy cow!
