'King' wants to grace the fans with a violent finish of Ferguson at UFC 291.

Bobby Green is fighting for more than himself at UFC 291. He’s fighting for the fans.

‘King’ is keeping active in 2023 after an unfortunate no-contest result against Jared Gordon in April. Green will look to bounce back from his winless skid against another veteran of the fight game, this time being in the form of Tony Ferguson at UFC 291.

‘The Most Important Thing Is Impressing The Crowd’

Longtime lightweights Ferguson and Green are considered fan-favorites for their unique personalities and scrappy styles in and out of the Octagon. While entertainment doesn’t exactly equal a win on your record, Green is more focused on putting on a show for the fans than getting his hand raised against Ferguson in Salt Lake City.

“How do I see the fight going? I’m not God. I come in there and do my job, make sure I’m prepared, go to war and keep this sh*t exciting,” Green told Inside Fighting. “Keep sure that I get these fans off they seats. That’s the most important. Everything else is for the bullsh*t, it’s for the birds.

“So, the most important thing is impressing the crowd, giving those people an impact, something that they can look at and take from this point and [go] ‘man, I really love your shows’. All day, they’ve been telling me that [I’m a fan favorite], ‘bro, you’re different from everybody, we love the way you brought your bringing’ and that’s my intention at the end of the day, is to keep bringing that same aura with me every one of my fights that people wanna watch. Like no matter what you’re fighting, I’m watching your fight. That’s what’s most important.”

This isn’t ‘King’s’ first rodeo. The UFC veteran has received ‘fight of the night’ awards on four different occasions and it honestly wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see Green and Ferguson bag another $50K bonus for their efforts, come fight night.

Green’s Prediction

As for how the fight plays out, Green doesn’t see ‘El Cucuy’ reaching the distance with him.

“My prediction? Like I said, I’m not God, but I probably put him out in probably two or three,” Green stated.

We’ll see if this outcome unfolds for Green at UFC 291 on July 29th.
