Jan Blachowicz Gets Third-Round TKO Following Aleksandar Rakic Knee Injury – UFC Vegas 54 Results (Highlights)

Blachowicz returned to the win column with a third-round TKO win over Rakic due to a knee injury suffered by the latter.

A light heavyweight bout between Jan Blachowicz and Aleksandar Rakic is taking place now (Saturday, May 14, 2022) at UFC Vegas 54.

Round 1

Rakic with some kicks early on. Rakic slips but avoids a high kick from Blachowicz. Rakic continues with his leg kicks. Blachowicz with a combo. Rakic lands a strike that seems to have cut open Blachowicz. Blachowicz eats a couple of leg kicks. He’s starting to check some now, though. Blachowicz lands his own leg kicks. Blachowicz is continuing to land a left to the body and right hand combo. Rakic responds with body kicks and leg kicks. Rakic is just about missing some big right hands. Both fighters exchange low kicks. Blachowicz catches Rakic and they clinch momentarily! Blachowicz lands a huge left during an exchange! Rakic attacks the body but has slowed down, mainly due to his leg getting chopped up by Blachowicz. 

Round 2

Rakic is aggressive early on. Rakic takes Blachowicz down with a single leg! Blachowicz is threatening with a triangle choke but Rakic gets out of it. Rakic is landing a couple of elbows as he continues to keep Blachowicz down. Blachowicz gets to the fence but remains controlled by Rakic who is trapping his legs. Blachowicz gets to his feet but just as the round ends.

Round 3

Rakic with an early jab. Both fighters exchange leg kicks. Blachowicz with a power combination that connects. Rakic misses a telegraphed uppercut. Blachowicz connects with a leg kick. He follows it up with another one before Rakic falls to the ground with an injury. The referee calls it off soon after! It appears Rakic’s right knee buckled as he took that second leg kick.
