Anthony Smith has a bold prediction for the UFC 289 main and co-main events.

The UFC returns to Canada in Vancouver on Saturday with Amanda Nunes defending her bantamweight title against Irene Aldana in the main event. The co-main event sees Beneil Dariush vs. Charles Oliveira which many expect to be a very competitive fight.

However, Smith thinks there is a great possibility that both the main and co-main events are one-way traffic and dominant wins.

‘Dominant wins for both People’

“I’m going to go ahead and be the headling guy. I think there is a great possibility that the co-main event and the main event are one-way traffic and dominant wins for both people,” Smith said on Sirius XM. “I think there is a chance Amanda Nunes goes out there and just dusts Irene Aldana and there is a great chance Beneil Dariush just buzzsaws Charles Oliveira and we will be sitting at the desk like well now what do we talk about?

If the UFC 289 main and co-main events are one-sided fights, it likely will surprise many, especially the co-main events. The oddsmakers have Dariush at just a -150 favorite with Oliveira being a +125 underdog. -150 means the oddsmakers are giving Dariush a 60 percent chance of winning the fight, so they do believe it will be a close fight, unlike Anthony Smith.

The main event, meanwhile, does have higher odds as Amanda Nunes is a -350 favorite which calculates to a 77.78% chance of winning, which does likely mean a one-sided fight. Nunes having one-sided wins is also not uncommon as she has dominated and clearly won six of her last seven wins. However, Aldana is usually a tough out for everyone, except for Holly Holm who put on a clinic against her.

UFC 289 goes down this Saturday, June 10th on pay-per-view in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Stay locked to MiddleEasy for all fight night coverage.
