Anthony Pettis OUT, The Korean Zombie IN against Jose Aldo at UFC 163

Well it looks like The Korean Zombie got his wish.

After publicly stating that he felt Anthony Pettis hasn’t ‘earned his place’ in the division to be granted a title shot, the MMA gods shine on Chan Sung Jung through an unexpected knee injury from Pettis, placing TKZ in UFC 163 against Jose Aldo. The way that was written suggests that MMA gods granted Jung a reward by injuring another fighter, which may be true. We just don’t know how MMA divinatory works.

The loser in this scenario (besides Anthony Pettis’ knee) is Ricardo Lamas who was pegged to fight The Korean Zombie at UFC 162. Now that he’s out an opponent, the entire July 4th weekend bout has been scrapped.

Now that Jung got his wish, he has until August 3rd to prove whatever point he’s been trying to make throughout 2013. Good luck.
