Alright, so Joe Son may have killed his cellmate…

Everyone at MiddleEasy has been avoiding this story like some horrible and incurable sexual disease. This morning, someone on The Underground posted a rumor that Joe Son killed his cellmate. We caught it on the first page, but it seemed like such an obvious troll attempt that we just decided to follow it and see if it went anywhere throughout the day. At first, the story seemed to be confined to the thread, yet the person who broke the news insisted that it was true. We continued to do whatever everyone at MiddleEasy does during the day, and then Sherdog issued a ‘report’ that used The Underground thread as a legit ‘source.’ It seemed somewhat naive at the time, a news leader like Sherdog using the testimony of a poster on The Underground as evidence, but we should have taken more notice. Now it appears that they were right all along. Joe Son is suspected of murdering his cell mate — and the story just continues to get even more nuttier.

The LA Times is now reporting (from a press release issued by The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation) that Joe Son is suspected of murdering his 50-year-old cellmate, who was found dead inside the Wasco State Prison Reception Center in Kern County on Monday night. The victim was a convicted sex offender that received two years in prison for failing to register as a sexual offender. Currently, prison officials are investigating the murder, and it’s rumored the victim met his demise through a modified blade smuggled into the area. Once the investigation is complete, we should know more about the killing, but at the moment, all signs point to Joe Son. My, oh my — how the Mighty Joe Young has fallen. That’s a movie reference, and if I didn’t inform you of that, the statement would have just seemed ridiculous and highly ill-placed. [Source]
