Alistair Overeem is no longer with Golden Glory

Now that Alistair Overeem announced that he and Golden Glory have officially parted ways due to a ‘difference that led to a breach of trust,’ I’m officially nominating Scottie Epstein and 10th Planet West LA to be his new gym in the Los Angeles area. Hopefully The Reem will attend the Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos press conference later today in Hollywood and I’ll have the chance to tell him there. Eventually, we will see Alistair locked in the cage with one of those individuals — so the social dynamic at the press conference may be somewhat interesting. However, it may not be. I’m probably just getting your hopes up high for nothing. He’s probably not even going to come to the presser. Bummer.

Here’s what Alistair Overeem said just minutes ago regarding Golden Glory.

“I would like to make a statement regarding the recent news of the separation from my long-time management Golden Glory. As with any relationship, there are good times and bad times – you have your common ground and your differences. As with any relationship, you have trust. When differences lead to a breach of trust, there’s no turning back and no way to continue a positive, working relationship. I don’t air my dirty laundry. I would appreciate the respect regarding my privacy to not disclose any further details on this matter. Again, I would like to thank team Golden Glory for all the years we worked together and wish them success for the future.”

For the first time in his life, The Reem is gymless. Finally, we have something in common. Now on to the whole ‘packing on 60 lbs of muscle’ thing. [Source]
