Alex Pereira has been inducted into the Glory Kickboxing Hall of Fame days before his upcoming light heavyweight title fight with Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295.
A special honor
Glory Kickboxing was pleased to announce Pereira’s induction into their Hall of Fame. Pereira is the third fighter to have been given the special recognition. The other two was “Bazooka” Joe Valtellini and former UFC fighter Semmy Schilt.

In a short speech, Pereira reflected on how pivotal his stint with Glory was to his career as a pro MMA fighter.
“My time at Glory was an important part to grow as a martial artist and as well as a person outside the ring. Glory has been my home for many years and being the third in the Hall of Fame really means a lot to me,” Pereira said.

Pereira competed under Glory’s banner from March 2014 to September 2021. He logged an impressive 12-4 record with eight of his wins come by way of KO. He also held the middleweight and light heavyweight Glory Kickboxing titles and is widely regarded as one of the promotion’s greatest fighters of all time.
Glory then, UFC now
In the UFC, Pereira is planning to do the same as he gears up for his first light heavyweight title match at UFC 295. The Brazilian already held the UFC middleweight title in the past and is now focused on conquering the light heavyweight belt.
Pereira will face Prochazka for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title relinquished by Jamahal Hill. He is coming off a victorious light heavyweight debut against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 where he won via split decision.
