Call of Duty: Ghosts Adds Girls to Multiplayer, Because Girls Aren’t Icky Anymore

We live in a post Anita Sarkeesian world now in gaming, so get over it dudes who want their adrenaline-pumping multiplayer experiences to be estrogen-free. It’s over. When I say that it’s over, I really mean it, because even Call of Duty has given in and will add female soldiers to Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision held a multiplayer unveiling event today on the interwebs and there was a glimpse of something that the Call of Duty games has never shown before, which was women.

Yes, women! Women are someone’s daughter, sister and possibly even mother, they will also be playable characters in the upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts. We aren’t sure exactly how this will work just yet, because in the past, Call of Duty multiplayer just seems to slap you in whatever skin they damned well feel like it. Not many have complained about that, but this does make you wonder if they’ll continue on in that tradition, or will fear the backlash from dudes having to play as females.

I guess now it is just up to the Call of Duty community as a whole to handle this maturely. Yikes.
