Tito Ortiz could be returning to the boxing ring against an unexpected opponent.

‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ should probably hang up the new gloves, but a beatable opponent has emerged. BIG BOY, a social media personality with one million Instagram followers, is interested in fighting Ortiz.

During an Instagram post, which MMA Mania quoted, the former UFC champion had this to say about the powerlifter whose real name is Jake Johns:

“This Big Boy cat … he said that I called him out. I never called this guy out. This guy is talking out of the side of his neck. I’ve never had any problem against him, or with him, I like the guy. He said I called him out which is completely false. The guy wants smoke, let’s light this shit up, let’s do it. I’ve done nothing since I fought Anderson. I still got fight left in me. If this guy wants smoke, make it happen.”

BIG BOY allegedly responded to Ortiz’s original callout that doesn’t exist. ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ took the bait and now finds himself in the headlines with the social media personality. With the recent influencer boxing movement, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the former UFC champion take on the bodybuilder.

BIG BOY responds to Tito Ortiz

Whether BIG BOY plans to fight Tito Ortiz or not, he is benefiting from the headlines. With that said, the social media influencer has responded to Ortiz’s official callout. He joined TMZ Sports for an interview and had this to say:

“I respect all fighters, 100 percent. He’s a world champion. I’ve looked up to him and I respect him. But I think he’s past his prime. I think I’m more explosive. I’m stronger. I got more game than him. Everything all in one. I just think it’s his time, man. I’m gonna really retire his ass.”

Ortiz looked awful against Anderson Silva in his pro boxing debut, which lasted less than 90 seconds. Although the former UFC champion should probably retire, he has a solid chance of beating BIG BOY. The bodybuilder is massive and robust, but he has no combat sports experience, as far as we know, and could gas out quickly.

Meanwhile, ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ has a questionable chin nowadays but also has tons of fighting experience to lean on. It’ll be intriguing to see if the fight materializes in 2023.
