Boxing legend and promoter Oscar De La Hoya isn’t opposed to throwing down with UFC CEO Dana White.
De La Hoya and White have had beef throughout the years, but it’s had some cooldown periods. More recently, De La Hoya suggested that he’s not interested in trading barbs with the face of the UFC any longer. With that said, it doesn’t mean the “Golden Boy” is against mixing it up with Dana in the future.
He even wouldn’t mind having the fight as a co-headliner for a major UFC-boxing crossover event.
Oscar De La Hoya Open To Fighting Dana White Despite Efforts To Squash Beef
De La Hoya recently made an in-studio appearance on “The MMA Hour.” Speaking to Ariel Helwani, Oscar discussed the potential Ryan Garcia vs. Sean O’Malley fight idea that has been floated around by “KingRy.”
“I like him [O’Malley], he’s a good striker,” De La Hoya said.
The former boxing world champion promotes Garcia under Golden Boy Promotions. Oscar isn’t opposed to negotiating for that fight, and he’s even thrown out a fantasy matchup with Dana White.
“It’ll be a hell of a promotion,” De La Hoya said. “I would actually entertain that because Ryan can fight in the main event with this kid, and maybe I can do Dana on the co-main.”
This tickled Helwani, who brought up Oscar’s efforts to end his war of words with Dana. De La Hoya said a little friendly competition wouldn’t hurt either man.
“No, we’re cool, it’s all good,” De La Hoya said. “I don’t know if we’re cool, I haven’t even talked to the guy. I’m good, but it doesn’t mean that we can’t go at it.”

While the world of combat sports has seen some bizarre stuff, don’t count on ever seeing Oscar De La Hoya going one-on-one with Dana White inside a ring or the Octagon.
Here’s the video clip of De La Hoya discussing potentially fighting Dana White:
