Boxing promoter and Matchroom Sport boss Eddie Hearn is confident Anthony Joshua would torch Francis Ngannou in their forthcoming boxing showdown.

AJ will prevail

Speaking to The MMA Hour, Hearn acknowledged that Ngannou will be a dangerous opponent for Joshua. However, he blatantly backed AJ and predicted that the former two-time unified heavyweight champion will edge the former UFC champion. In fact, Hearn even expects to see Joshua secure a knockout win over Ngannou.

“Everyone’s going to play my previous clips [of me saying] that Francis Ngannou couldn’t win an English title before he fought Tyson Fury. I feel like he’s earned that shot — or certainly to continue at that level. And I fancy the fight. You’ve heard me say before, I really believe AJ knocks him out. But he’s a dangerous fight. I know that this guy’s a big, big lump that can really punch, and I think he has no fear, which makes him dangerous. But I just feel like AJ’s in a great place, and I expect him to pick him apart and knock him out.” Hearn said.

Ngannou is determined to test Joshua

Hearn has long been doubting Ngannou’s boxing skills and previously said that “The Predator” couldn’t stand a chance against any active high-level heavyweight boxer. Many believe that Ngannou has proven Hearn wrong when he floored Tyson Fury during their epic battle and he is now eager to find out if Joshua could take his punch.

More details about Joshua vs. Ngannou will be revealed on the press conference scheduled to take place on January 15, As it stands, the fight will be a 10-round match and is targeted to happen in March in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Joshua is coming in off a TKO win over Otto Wallin last month. On the other hand, Ngannou will be hoping to finally secure his first pro boxing win after losing to Fury via decision in October.
