Paul wants to add something extra to their fight.

Jake Paul is shaking things up again, this time with a bold $5 million bet on his fight with boxing icon Mike Tyson. As the big match gets closer, Paul’s playful challenge has caught people’s attention and raised questions about whether such bets are even allowed. Paul offered Tyson a deal, if Tyson lasts more than four rounds, he’d win $5 million. But if Tyson can’t go that far, he’d have to get a tattoo saying, “I love Jake Paul.” While this might seem like fun, it’s caused some to worry about legal issues around the fight.

Worries Grow About the Fight’s True Outcome

People are worried that Jake Paul’s bet could affect how the fight goes. Canadian lawyer Erik Magraken explained that the big $5 million challenge might make Mike Tyson not try to win quickly. Magraken thinks Tyson could focus more on lasting longer in the fight instead of trying to knock out Paul early, which could change how the match would normally go.

He said, “Jake Paul betting Mike Tyson $5 million if he makes it past the 4th seems like Jake saying-Don’t try to KO me in the early rounds. If I was a regulator, I’d have questions.”

Veteran boxing promoter Lou DiBella shared his thoughts on the issue, saying the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), who is in charge of the event, should step in.

DiBella believes the bet should be stopped because it’s a serious fight, and with legal sportsbooks involved, it could cause problems.

He said, “C’mon now! Is there no state regulation? If this is a professional bout, with legal sportsbooks taking action on it, this kind of ‘side bet’ has to be prohibited. PERIOD.”

Even though many people are worried, the Texas group in charge of the fight says Jake Paul’s bet is okay.

When lawyer Magraken asked the Texas Commission about the bet, they said Paul’s deal with Mike Tyson was just a private agreement, so it didn’t break any rules.

They explained that there’s no rule stopping “private agreements made by a licensed contestant.”

Even though Paul is not in trouble, some people still think the bet doesn’t look right.

The bet makes the fight super exciting. Fans can’t wait for the big match on November 15. The big question is will Tyson be able to keep going past four rounds and win the $5 million or will he end up with a silly tattoo.
