  • Bas Rutten believes Mike Tyson is still capable of knocking Jake Paul
  • “El Guapo” predicts a decision unless “Iron Mike” goes wild inside the ring with “The Problem Child”

Bas Rutten is certain Mike Tyson still got the power in his hands to knock Jake Paul out.

Mike is slow but deadly

Speaking to Mike Perry on Overdogs podcast, the MMA pioneer pointed out that Tyson has certainly lost speed because of his age but make no mistake he could still finish “The Problem Child.”

“The thing is this, I don’t know if it’s an exhibition or not… if Mike is completely ‘Let’s go!’, if he’s allowed to do that, he’s just a very scary guy… Most of the time you lose the speed and you get older, you keep the power… but you lose speed… But Mike, he’s a different guy,” Rutten assessed.

Bas’ prediction

On the other hand, Rutten thinks Paul is well aware of Tyson’s ability to take him out. The way “El Guapo” sees it, Paul wouldn’t dare to engage “The Baddest Man on the Planet” in a standup war.

Instead, Rutten predicts the YouTuber-turned-boxing star would utilize his advantage in stamina en route to a decision victory. However, Rutten is not ruling out the possibility that Tyson would flatten Paul out if he makes it ugly inside the ring.

“Jake is smart. Jake will be in and out, in and out, he’s not gonna stand with him, he’s not gonna draw a line like Max Holloway wants to do. He’s gonna be dancing around him and he got the stamina to do it, he’s got the technical skills now to do it, so this could be going to a distance. But I’m just wondering if Mike could go all the way because if he goes all the way, I’m just saying, he’s a scary guy,” Rutten predicted.

At 58, Tyson is still training on full blast ahead of the fight. He recently boasted his speed and power by posting a clip of his intense pad sessions with his trainer.

Paul vs. Tyson is set to take place on Nov. 15th at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas and will be streamed live and free on Netflix.
