Anthony Joshua Responds To UFC Mega-Million Deal Offer

Unbeaten boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is slated for a major unification bout with Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) on March 31st inside Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. But after this contest, could he have a future in the UFC?

UFC president Dana White White, who is a big fan of Joshua and is keen on promoting him by offering a reportedly $500 million contract deal. He will be ringside in Cardiff next weekend to watch Joshua take on Joseph Parker.

Joshua seems to intrigue with the idea and recently responded to those rumors via media conference call: (Via MMAMania)

“If it’s good business, it makes sense. I’m not in the business and I’m sure Eddie (Hearn) isn’t in it to say, ‘Oh, Dana White, we’re not interested in working with you,’ when we don’t know what’s on the table. We’ll listen and a hundred percent, if it makes sense, we’re all ears, man. So I’m happy that Dana’s coming into the game. Hopefully, he can add some excitement, and we can progress forward and make some good money and make some good fights.”

Undefeated Joshua’s record is improved to 20-0 after his most recent victory over Carlos Takam last October in Wales.

Joshua admitted that he would be up for having a fight in Octagon, and even named UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou as potential contenders. But any involvement with the UFC would likely be under their boxing banner.

UFC’s interest in getting into boxing world is of no secret as Dana White played a huge role in promoting a highly anticipated boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor Mcgregor last year.

That’s not the first time Anthony Joshua’s name popped up in the MMA, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has expressed interest in wanting to box Joshua previously and currently.

What do you think of this rumor mega deal surrounding Anthony Joshua? However, it’s not clear if Joshua would be an MMA fighter, or would be sticking to boxing under Zuffa Boxing banner.
