Fedor Emelianenko Finishes Frank Mir Via TKO

Bellator 198 went down earlier tonight (Sat., April 28, 2018) live on Paramount Network from inside Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, where former Pride FC champion Fedor Emelianenko collide with former UFC champion Frank Mir in the third quarterfinal of the heavyweight Grand Prix.

Fedor Emelianenko stunned the crowd with an impressive finish of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the main event. “Last Emperor” was knocked down early in his fight, but was able to turn things around quickly blasted Mir with a nasty uppercut and sending him to the canvas then landed a series of punches on Mir’s face until referee Mike Beltran stepped in and stopped the action.

With this win, Emelianenko improved his professional record to 37-5 (1 no-contest) and won six of his past seven fights. Meanwhile, Mir (18-12) was making his Bellator debut is coming off a two-year suspension after his loss to Mark Hunt back in 2016 and dropped three in a row.

Now Emelianenko will take on Chael Sonnen in the semi-final round of Bellator’s Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament at a TBD date.
