The Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champ Rashad Evans Will Be Rewarded With A UFC Hall Of Fame Induction!

“Suga” Rashad Evans is the latest fighter who’d end up as a UFC Hall of Fame inductee. Evans is planned to officially become a part of the Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing July 5 during International Fight Week. The news was announced during UFC Fight Night 152 broadcast, which went down last night (May 18, 2019) in Rochester, New York.

Rashad Evans was present in Rochester event, and he was unable to hide his emotions.

The BJJ and Gaidojutsu black belt appeared in the TUF 2 season as a Heavyweight competitor and defeated Brad Imes via tight split decision. But he quickly dropped to 205-pound and showed his full potential, with back-to-back victories over Sam Hoger, Stephen Bonnar, Jason Lambert, and Sean Salmon (brutal right high kick KO).

After a draw against dangerous Tito Ortiz, “Suga” earned two wins over Michael Bisping and Chuck Liddell. He met Forest Griffin at UFC 92 and won the title via third-round TKO. At UFC 98, Rashad Evans was dethroned by dangerous Karateka Lyoto Machida.

After victories over Thiago Silva, Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, and Phil Davis, UFC rewarded Rashad Evans with another title shot, but he was stopped by Jon “Bones” Jones in the main event of UFC 145.

Rashad Evans lost five bouts in a row before he finally called a quit to his career. He last fought at UFC 225, where Anthony “Lionheart” Smith stopped him via vicious knee KO in the first round.

Rashad will join Ronda Rousey, Urijah Faber, B.J. Penn, Bisping, and Griffin in the UFC Hall of Fame’s Modern Wing. Great reward for Evans!
