Israel Adesanya dodged a bullet after getting an unexpected DM from Diddy.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few weeks, you’ve probably heard about the allegations surrounding hip-hop mogul P. Diddy. The proprietor of Bad Boy Records—the label credited with the discovery and development of music artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Mary J. Blige, and Under—is currently locked up in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York while awaiting trial on a slew charges of charges including racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Since the news broke, rumors have run rampant regarding the Grammy winner’s infamous “freak-off parties” which attracted some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

Israel Adesanya Believes God Protected Him From Diddy Drama

As it turns out, Israel Adesanya was one of the names Diddy wanted to see on his guest list. During a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience, the two-time middleweight champion revealed he received a DM from P. Diddy shortly after knocking out Alex Pereira at UFC 287.

“God protects me, I’m so glad God protects me, because look, if I got invited to the ‘White Party,’ I’d have gone,” Adesanya said. “After I knocked out Pereira in Miami, we went to Tootsies the next night, and they were like, ‘Yo. P. Diddy was in here watching your fight last night.’ And I was like, ‘Wait. Word? Crazy.’”

“I went and checked my DMs and I saw, oh, he hit me up. And he was talking about two months later I wanna do an interview or whatever. And I said, ‘Here’s my manager’s number.’ Bop, cool. Nothing ever came of it. But again, that’s why I say God be protecting me. Beause who knows? You never know.”

Diddy pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

Even if he manages to escape a permanent residency behind bars, the entertainment icon faces a plethora of pending lawsuits from alleged victims. On Tuesday, Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee revealed that he is representing 120 accusers with allegations against Piddy that go back more than two decades.
