After tackling the world of film with his role in the immensely successful Road House remake, Conor McGregor is now invading video games courtesy of IO Interactive’s Hitman: World of Assassination.

The former two-division world champion will step into the role of ‘The Disruptor,’ an MMA fighter targeted for elimination by the game’s protagonist, Agent 47.

“Welcome to the Season of The Disruptor! Global Superstar Conor McGregor is joining the World of Assassination, starring as the Disruptor in a brand-new Celebrity Elusive Target,” IO’s official press release reads. “You are tasked with traveling to the Isle of Sgàil to protect Quantum Leap CEO Tim Quinn from a humiliating defeat in the ring at the hands of the Disruptor. This mission will be free to play for everyone through the Free Starter Pack.”

It’s certainly not the first time Conor McGregor has been featured in a popular video game franchise. Aside from his appearance in all five of EA Sports’ UFC games, he also made a brief appearance as Captain Bradley Fillion in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare back in 2016.

The age of the Disruptor is here! I had a lot of fun creating the character and bringing him to life. I can’t wait for players to try to take him down — Agent 47 is in for the fight of his life!McGregor in a statement.

The latest Hitman DLC is available on PlayStation, X-Box, and Steam.

Conor McGregor Kickstarts Some Big Changes to UFC 303

Conor McGregor was scheduled to step inside the Octagon for the first time in nearly three years this Saturday night (June 29) at UFC 303 in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case after ‘Mystic Mac’ withdrew from the bout due to a broken pinky toe

Instead, fight fans will see a light heavyweight championship rematch as Alex Pereira puts his 205-pound title on the line against Jiri Prochazka on just 16 days’ notice.

The event has seen a slew of changes in the last several weeks. Aside from losing McGregor’s long-awaited clash with former Bellator champion Michael Chandler, the event also lost ex-titleholder Jamahal Hill who backed out of his bout with Carlos Ulberg due to a knee injury. Ulberg has since exited the fight, leaving the UFC to scramble for a replacement for his replacement, Anthony Smith.

‘Lionheart’ will now meet No. 10 ranked middleweight Roman Dolidze who agreed to step up to light heavyweight on short notice—much to the chagrin of Smith

Here’s hoping that no other fights fall through within the next 48 hours.
