  • Aspen Ladd doesn’t see anybody beating Kayla Harrison in the UFC
  • The former PFL champ has proposed an interim title fight with Julianna Pena

Aspen Ladd is convinced that Kayla Harrison has already become the best bantamweight fighter in the UFC.

Nobody beats Kayla

Speaking to reporters in a media call ahead of Bellator Champions Series in Paris, Ladd was asked to comment about Harrison’s UFC debut. Ladd, who was Harrison’s last opponent in the PFL before she joined the UFC, raved about her former rival. For Ladd, nobody in the UFC women’s bantamweight division could stop the Kayla.

“I thought Kayla Harrison did exactly what I thought she was gonna do, especially when I heard the matchup,” Ladd said. “Obviously people think that’s a tough fight, or Holly will do the same thing that she did to Ronda [Rousey]. [But no]. [Harrison] ragdolled her, and I thought she was going to make it look easy. There’s not currently anybody in that division that’s going to be able to beat her, in my opinion.”

Kayla wants the title

Harrison did not fail to deliver in her maiden UFC appearance, having dominated Holly Holm en route to a submission victory. Her win changed the current landscape of the division with talks of potential title fight already swirling.

According to the former PFL champ, she’s open to facing Julianna Pena even for an interim title at UFC 303. However, No. 2 bantamweight contender Ketlen Vieira thinks Harrison should be tested first and she’s willing to be the gatekeeper. But as per Vieira, Harrison refused to accept the fight and ducked her.

As it stands, Harrison is currently ranked No. 4 in the official women’s bantamweight rankings. She has yet to be booked for her next fight but one thing certain is that Harrison is edging closer and closer to a dream title shot.
