A computer-generated faceoff between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson appeared in the latest promo video for UFC 300.
On Saturday, the UFC traveled to the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, for a fight night event. The thirteen-bout production ended with Manon Fiorot potentially securing a women’s flyweight title shot by dominating Erin Blanchfield to a unanimous decision.
One of the highlights from UFC Atlantic City was a three-minute promotion video for UFC 300, which takes place on April 13, that showcased many historic moments throughout the years. Fans quickly noticed that the UFC highlighted several fantasy matchups by creating computer-generated visuals.
Since then, the most discussed fantasy matchup has been Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson, which was previously scheduled several times. The legendary lightweights were initially supposed to fight in 2015, with ‘The Eagle’ pulling out with a rib injury.
A year later, Ferguson withdrew from their re-scheduled fight due to a lung issue. The highly-anticipated matchup was labeled as cursed after they canceled two more times due to a botched weight cut by Nurmagomedov and a freak injury involving ‘El Cucuy’ tripping over production equipment during a pre-fight media obligation.
