Demetrious Johnson Claims a ‘High as F*ck’ Dana White Dubbed Conor McGregor the Best P4P Fighter in the World

Johnson shared the hilarious story of when the UFC CEO made a pretty bold declaration while partying with Snoop Dogg.

Demetrious Johnson is one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Sadly, ‘Mighty Mouse’ rarely gets the recognition he deserves, particularly from his former employer.

During Johnson’s history-making run in the UFC, he defended the flyweight world title an incredible 11 times—eclipsing the impressive numbers put up by MMA legends Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva. Despite that, Dana White never saw much value in Johnson, hence why he happily traded DJ to ONE Championship in exchange for a washed Ben Askren who quickly fizzled out upon stepping inside the Octagon.

Demetrious Johnson has never been shy about expressing his frustration over the way Uncle Dana treated him and recently, the reigning ONE flyweight titleholder shared yet another example of the disrespect he continuously absorbed.

Appearing on a podcast with fellow former UFC fighter Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, the two discussed the ongoing argument over who should sit atop the P4P rankings—lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, or heavyweight king Jon Jones.

That sparked a memory, no pun intended, of a time when he and White were hanging out with Snoop Dogg. Perhaps partaking in some of that sticky-icky, White confidently declared that Conor McGregor was the greatest pound-for-pound fighter of all time, eliciting an understandable response from Johnson.

“He goes, ‘You know who the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world is, Demetrious?’ I was like, I said, ‘Who?’ He goes, ‘Conor McGregor.’ I was like, ‘He just f*cking lost! What are you talking about?!’ I said, Dana, I was like, ‘He just lost.’ He goes, ‘Doesn’t matter. He’ll fight anybody, anytime, anywhere.’ And I was like, ‘Dana you f*cking high as f*ck right now. You smoking that stuff with Snoop Dogg?'”

Is Conor McGregor Coming Back on June 29?

Conor McGregor’s status as one of the most important figures in MMA history is undeniable. Aside from being the UFC’s first-ever simultaneous two-division world champion, he also holds the record for eight of the 10 highest-grossing pay-per-views of all time.

On June 29, McGregor is scheduled to step inside the Octagon for the first time in nearly three years at UFC 303—an event that has already broken the record for the highest gate in UFC history, eclipsing $20 million.

Unfortunately, McGregor’s status for the event appears to be up in the air. After a press event in Dublin to promote his fight with former Bellator champion ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler was suddenly canceled, fans have been waiting with bated breath to find out if ‘Mystic Mac’ will actually make the walk during International Fight Week.

Recently, MMA Hour host Ariel Helwani reported that there is very little positivity surrounding McGregor’s comeback, prompting the promotion to send out “feelers” in hopes of securing either a replacement opponent for Chandler or a new fight altogether.
