I couldn’t be the only person that chuckled when the UFC marketing department sold Alexander Gustafsson’s ability to defeat Jon Jones based on his height in the new UFC 165 promo. When you’re at the top of the MMA world, it gets a little lonely up there so I can understand how the UFC is literally grasping at anything to make people believe that any opponent Jon Jones has will be competitive. I mean, you guys don’t believe that, right? That Alexander Gustafsson will actually defeat Jon Jones. What does Gust have that would be different than anyone Jones has faced — aside from the entire height/reach thing? If you said ‘nothing’ then you’ve answered correctly.
Look, it would be interesting if Alexander Gustafsson defeated Jon Jones. I mean the entire 205 lb division would be spun around completely. However, the probability of it happening are slim to nill.
