Bellator President Scott Coker Working On Anderson Silva vs. Fedor Emelianenko

Silva vs. Fedor in NY? Wild

Anderson Silva vs. Fedor Emelianenko?? That match-up seemed like it could never happen but never say never.

‘The Last Emperor’ is expected to fight one more time in Bellator before retiring from the sport of MMA. Bellator wanted Emelianenko to end his career in Russia, but with everything that is currently going down, it looks like the walking legend will compete somewhere else for his final fight.

A dream match-up

In a recent interview with The Ringer MMA show, Bellator president Scott Coker revealed he has some other big plans for Emelianenko, which include a fight with UFC legend.

“We did offer [Anderson Silva] an MMA fight against Fedor. We didn’t even get serious or talk numbers or anything like that, but there was definitely an outreach on our part to see if there was any interest,” Coker said. “At that time, he really wanted to focus on his boxing and see how far he could take it. And you know what? To me, I would say, look, we can do it in Japan, or we could do it in New York City, in Madison Square Garden. Let’s do it big, let’s make it huge.”

GOAT vs. GOAT

Silva is considered by many to be the middleweight GOAT, while Emelianenko is deemed to be the heavyweight GOAT. Therefore, Coker wants to sell the fight as such.

“This is the fight that everybody would love to see. GOAT number one versus GOAT number two. Negotiating a weight class might be a little challenging, to be honest. But I was like, ‘hey, let’s start the dialogue, let’s have a conversation.’ It was a very quick conversation and a quick response back, so I just kind of dropped it. But maybe we should revisit it,” Coker said.

There is no doubt that a fight between ‘The Spider’ and ‘The Last Emperor’ would be epic and primetime viewing. So here is to Bellator getting it done.

BUT before Silva can fight Emelianenko, he has to get through Jake Paul next month in Phoenix, Arizona.
