Platinum Mike Perry’s tweets re-ignite Covington beef.

Colby Covington won a very comfortable decision over Robbie Lawler at UFC Newark. While many had to tip their cap to his performance regardless of their feelings towards “Chaos,” one person not impressed was UFC welterweight Platinum, Mike Perry.

Perry recently interviewed with MMA Fighting for his upcoming fight at UFC Uraguay vs Vicente Luque. He was his usual amped-up self as he addressed the matchup against Vincente and expressed how the matchup should be fun.

During the interview, Perry was asked about his tweets during UFC Fight Nights the past few weeks. The tweets involved both Mickey Gall and Colby Covington. Perry said:

“If I hit someone 600 times, it might be the first death in the octagon.” This was about the high strike volume performance that Covington displayed in which many fans were impressed.

“It only takes 60 from me, so 10% of what Colby did … if I did 10% of that I would SMASH him.” Although it seems like Platinum Perry wasn’t a fan of Colby’s style, he then admitted he has potential to beat Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

“It’s a good fight. Its two wrestlers… I see the sport in a different light these days and that light is I see it as wrestling first. You have to subdue what these guys want to do.” He then went on to say “I’ve been working on many ways to shut that down and open up my own game of striking.”

Perry and Covington certainly have archives of disdain towards one another.

Platinum Perry wasn’t fascinated with his own execution back when he fought Max Griffin at UFC Orlando. This led to Covington making remarks about Perry’s girlfriend at the time and now fiance:

The hatred from these men towards one another is undeniable. Were you impressed by Covington’s performance against Robbie Lawler? Or do you side with Mike Perry? Let us know in the comment section below and stayed turned from more on MiddleEasy.
