Jorge Masvidal has issued Gilbert Burns an ultimatum to fight him on the same card as Leon Edwards’ first title defense.

Former two-time title challenger Masvidal has been on the sidelines since his last outing against former interim welterweight champion Colby Covington in March at UFC 272. Covington dominated Masvidal for the five rounds to get the nod on the judges’ scorecards in a lopsided decision. The dispute between the former best friends turned rivals did not end there as ‘Gamebred’ allegedly got into a physical altercation with ‘Chaos’ just two weeks later outside a steak restaurant in Miami.

Masvidal was later arrested on two charges: one count of aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm and one count of criminal mischief.

Jorge Masvidal trashes Gilbert Burns for claims of turning down a fight

Top-ranked contender Burns has been rallying for a matchup with Jorge Masvidal for the last few months. Earlier this week, he put Masvidal on blast for turning down three fight offers against him after initially having a verbal agreement in place.

In a recent post made on Instagram, Masvidal hit back at Burns’ accusations of turning down a fight.

“Sorry I’ve been missing,” Masvidal said. “Your boy has been spreading his words, doing his thing, making sure this country can be as safe as it can be. I love all of you left and right. Midterms (election) are over already, so I can focus on some other things like myself and being selfish. I got to address this little b**ch that I usually wouldn’t have time for but I made some time for you today Gilbert. Hunter, if you’re hearing this or when you see this, can you please tell this b**ch I never agreed to November or December or January?”

Masvidal calls out Burns for a fight in England

Masvidal is willing to take on ‘Durinho’ and gave him an ultimatum to fight him on the same card as reigning welterweight champion Leon Edwards’ first title defense, expected to be in England.

“I’ve had court cases, I’ve had different things, a bunch of things where I haven’t been able to decide when I want to fight. Now I got some much better news on today so guess what? If you want to get your a** whooped, when Leon Edwards defends that f**king belt in England, I will gladly beat the living s**t out of you, Gilbert.

“If not, shut the f**k up because you are a pu**y and you are not going to do nothing when you see me in the streets or when you see me in the cage. We both know it. You are going to ask for a f**king picture when you see me in real life and say it’s all bullsh*t, it’s just for the pay-per-view. So, shut the f**k up.”

After Edwards became the new champion in Aug. at UFC 278, Jorge Masvidal was calling for a title shot against ‘Rocky’ in a long-awaited grudge match. However, he would need to get some solid wins to make his case stronger considering he dropped his last three bouts.
