- Jorge Masvidal bashed Colby Covington as he shared more details on the ongoing legal proceedings
- Masvidal will only fight Michel Pereira in the streets and not inside the octagon
UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal is reeling off a lopsided loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272. The pair’s heated rivalry was not brought to a halt inside the cage as Masvidal was arrested two weeks after for an alleged physical altercation with Covington.
Michel Pereira recently called out ‘Gamebred’ after his latest win over Santiago Ponzinibbio. While callouts are all fine and dandy, Pereira’s allegations of Masvidal sliding in his wife’s DMs seemed too far.
Jorge Masvidal reveals “the exact truth” of ongoing legal disputes with Covington
In a recent appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, ‘Gamebred’ expanded on his current legal issues with Covington. Masvidal declared himself to be innocent and bashed ‘Chaos’ for pressing charges. The 37-year-old said that the truth about Covington is coming out from the incident.
“Allegedly this, allegedly that. But I’m innocent. I’m not guilty”
“I’m facing three felonies if you wanna know the exact truth. And yeah, it’s still pending. This guy’s a coward f—k, so what can you expect from a coward f—k like him?”
Covington has not publicly spoken on the matter that took place on March 22.
Masvidal won’t fight Michel Pereira in the cage: “Literally a nobody”
Pereira made headlines after his win, but not for his performance. ‘Demolidor’ took issue with the Miami native allegedly sliding in his wife’s personal messages on Instagram.
Masvidal did not take long to fire back with receipts showing that it was indeed Pereira’ wife that contacted ‘Gamebred’ first.
“If he wants to scrap, when I see his bitch ass somewhere, I’ll scrap him. But, as far as, like, getting money or him being a ranked guy or somebody that I care to fight? No. He doesn’t fit any of those categories”
“He has to make up these fictitious stories about me wanting his chick. I don’t even remember too much what she looks like, but I could really care less about a chick that’s married”
“As far as me and this f–ker goes, if he sees me in the street, then we could talk about it. But getting in the cage? Bro, you’re literally a nobody”
“Maybe you should try out for, like, Olympic diving because that’s the type of shit you’re doing.”
Jorge Masvidal is the second biggest draw in the UFC and seems to be justified in turning down Pereira, who’s not a decent draw in the sport. Moreover, Masvidal has been calling for a showdown against the biggest star of the sport, Conor McGregor but no official developments have been reported yet.
