No doubt Colby Covington wasn’t teasing when he said he was pressing charges.
The UFC heavyweight Werdum was charged with “common assault” on Thursday following his heated brawl with Covington at the UFC Fight Night 121 media day earlier this week.

The Brazilian Werdum will have to appear in court on Dec. 13 to answer for his actions, as of now it’s unclear if authorities will let him leave Australia and return after his Marcin Tybura fight on Saturday night.
The New South Wales (NSW) Police Force posted the information about the incident on Social Media without mentioning the names of either party.

Covington told MMA Fighting Thursday morning that he was pursuing charges against Werdum.
Meanwhile, Werdum denied hitting Covington said via MMAjunkie:
“I no punch him. I no touch him. I have a video. This is bulls–t,”. “This guy’s a liar. I wanted to punch him because he kicked me. But I just dropped his phone, because he called me a ‘Brazilian animal.’ I don’t know why he said that. It’s too much. …This guy’s a crazy guy.”
UFC promotion is currently investigating the incident and could hand down its own sanctions, depending on what it finds.
As of now Werdum still headlines the UFC Fight Night 121.
