  • Ben Rothwell has been booked for his second bare-knuckle boxing match as he takes on Josh Watson at BKFC 41
  • BKFC 41 will be headlined by an array of former UFC fighters and champions

Former UFC heavyweight contender Ben Rothwell looks to follow up on his massive BKFC debut as he officially gets booked for a showdown with Josh Watson, the man who recently knocked the living lights out of Greg Hardy.

Clash of giants

Rothwell vs. Watson will take place on April 29 at the 1stBank Center in Denver, Colorado as part of the BKFC 41 card, the bare-knuckle boxing promotion announced.

This past October, Rothwell made a statement maiden BKFC performance when he knocked Bobo O’Bannon out in just 19 seconds. His opponent, Watson, meanwhile, is also no stranger to facing ex-UFC fighters. In fact, Watson was responsible for handing Hardy a disappointing BKFC debut by knocking him out in less than 2 rounds at BKFC KnuckleMania 3 last month.

Before joining BKFC, Rothwell enjoyed a 12-year UFC career. He entered the world of bare-knuckle boxing amassing a 39-14 pro MMA record. On the other hand, Watson is coming in with a 2-1 BKFC record to his name.

A UFC veteran-stacked card

With the addition of Rothwell vs. Watson to the card, BKFC 41 has become a UFC veteran-stacked event. The main card will be headlined by a showdown between as former UFC middleweight champion and BKFC debutant Luke Rockhold and his fellow UFC fighter-turned-BKFC star Mike Perry.

Co-headlining the card is a clash between former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and former UFC title contender Chad Mendes.
