Turns Out Robbie Lawler Is A Career Killer Robbie Lawler is one of the most "Ruthless" fighters alive. Now it seems that he has a trend of ending people's careers, as evident with Ben Askren. Askren was traded to the UFC as an undefeated fighter of 18-0. Moreover he was an Olympic wrestler, and training partner of former champ Tyron Woodley. As a result, there was a ton of anticipation for Askrn's debut, against Robbie Lawler. However, the bout between Askren and Lawler did not necessarily go as planned. After nearly getting molly whopped by Lawler, Askren was able to survive, and sink in a bulldog choke. Although the ref stopped the fight, there was controversy as Lawler had not tapped out. Since fighting Robbie Lawler, Askren has gone on to lose his next two fights. First he was on the receiving end of the fastest knockout in UFC history. Then most recently, a submission loss to Demian Maia. Nevertheless, this seems to be a recurring trend among opponents of Robbie Lawler. As Twitter user @TheJivemaster pointed out, the majority of people who fight Robbie Lawler, end up with losing records after the fact. "Some notable fighters' records since last fighting Robbie Lawler: - Ben Askren: 0-2 - Rafael dos Anjos: 1-3 - Donald Cerrone: 4-4 - Carlos Condit: 0-5 - Rory MacDonald: 3-3-1 - Johny Hendricks: 2-5 - Matt Brown: 2-4 - Jake Ellenberger: 2-7 - Josh Koscheck: 0-4 #UFCSingapore" Those are some pretty saddening statistics. The Robbie Lawler Curse has now officially been added to the list of MMA myths. The counterparts of this new curse, is the "Embedded Barbershop Curse," and the "EA Curse," among others. Do you think there is any substance to the idea of the Robbie Lawler Curse?
